Northeast Charter & Tour Honored with the 2025 BUSRide Good Stewardship Award

At Northeast Charter & Tour, we have always been driven by a commitment to excellence, sustainability, and community service. Today, we are thrilled to announce that our founder and owner, Scott Riccio, has been named the 2025 BUSRide Good Stewardship Award recipient! This prestigious honor, presented by BUSRide Magazine and the American Bus Association, recognizes individuals who demonstrate outstanding leadership, ethics, and dedication to customer service in the motorcoach industry.

A Visionary Leader in the Motorcoach Industry

Scott Riccio’s journey began in 1999 with a single motorcoach and a vision to provide safe, reliable, and high-quality transportation. Under his leadership, Northeast Charter & Tour has grown into a thriving company with a diverse fleet of 13 coaches, three mini-buses, passenger vans, and SUVs, serving a wide range of customers throughout the region.

His passion for innovation and customer service has helped Northeast Charter earn a reputation as a leader in the motorcoach industry. Whether it’s providing exceptional charter services or implementing sustainable business practices, Scott has remained dedicated to making a difference.

A Champion for the Industry

Beyond his role as a business owner, Scott Riccio has been a tireless advocate for the motorcoach industry. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he played a crucial role in lobbying U.S. Senators from Maine for federal relief, helping ensure the industry received the support it needed to recover.

Scott is also an active member of multiple industry organizations, including:

  • Greater Northeast Motorcoach Association
  • International Motorcoach Group
  • United Motorcoach Association
  • American Bus Association

Through these affiliations, he continues to promote best practices, industry growth, and collaboration among transportation providers.

Commitment to Community and Sustainability

At Northeast Charter, we believe in giving back to the community. Scott has led several impactful philanthropic initiatives, including:

Potato Palooza – An annual charity event donating tons of potatoes to food banks and shelters.

Stuff the Bus – A campaign that collects and delivers donations to local community organizations.

GoFundMe Campaign – Raising nearly $20,000 to support a Northeast Charter driver who lost his home and belongings.

In addition to these community efforts, Scott has prioritized environmental sustainability for over a decade. His leadership has led to Northeast Charter receiving multiple green awards, including: 🌿 2013 ABA Green Spirit Award for environmental stewardship. 🌿 2014 UMA Green Highway Award for implementing sustainable business practices, such as switching to natural gas for heating, launching a waste oil recycling program, and transitioning to an all-digital system for driver logs and company communications.

A Well-Deserved Recognition

Scott Riccio’s unwavering dedication to ethical business practices, sustainability, and industry advocacy makes him a true steward of the motorcoach industry. This award is a reflection of his passion, hard work, and commitment to making a positive impact on both the transportation sector and the communities we serve.

We couldn’t be prouder of this recognition and invite you to join us in celebrating Scott Riccio, the recipient of the 2025 BUSRide Good Stewardship Award! 🎉🏆
