23 Jan Northeast Gives Back
Christmas time at Northeast Charter Company is a great time for us to show our gratitude and give back to our community. We know that our fantastic community is a big part of why we have continued to grow our business over the years. That’s why every year we come together as a NECT family for our annual Christmas party and charity raffle. This year we selected the New Beginnings non-profit as our charity raffle recipients. To help raise money for New Beginnings, we raffled off:
2 tickets with ground transportation to the TD Garden in Boston MA for either a Celtics Basketball Game or a Bruins Hockey Game
$150 in local gift cards
$100 in Lottery Tickets
With 75 people in attendance, we were able to raise $1295.00 in addition to our team showing up with bags filled with items the New Beginnings charity and its patrons stood in need of. New Beginnings is a non-profit here in Maine that focuses on aiding homeless youth and families in crisis find safety, build connections, and access opportunities to help them thrive. They offer a Transitional Living Program which provides housing for youth 16-21 as well as programs to help those participating be prepared for independent living as well as hygiene kits, holiday care packages, and the like for those in need. Because of their exemplary service, we knew that New Beginning would be a well-deserving recipient of our donations.
Our Assistant Director of Financial Operations, Ben Piper and Sales Associate, Andy Maier were able to spread the joy to New Beginnings by delivering the check of $1,295 as well as items collected at our Christmas party directly to the charity. In response to our donation, New Beginnings let us know that our donations were hard at work helping them provide food, shelter, supplies, and crisis support to the youth and families using their services. They were also able to fill three bags of wishlist items and purchase five $5 gift cards to Dunkin’ Donuts. We are thankful that we were able to be a part of such a worthy cause and know that as we give back to our community, it continues to thrive.
