18 Jun Tim McGraw – Artist Spotlight
What’s summertime if it doesn’t include seeing a few of your favorite musicians in concert? Because Northeast Charter & Tour specializes in concert and event transportation by providing charter bus Maine, we sometimes like to spotlight a musician for our subscribers. And in the world of country music, few names are as big as Tim McGraw. Fans admire his great looks, great voice, and over-two-decades marriage to fellow country music star, Faith Hill. For most fans, though, it actually boils down to enjoying his music.
It is sort of fun to get a glimpse of favorite artists off the point, and we recently watched a meeting which McGraw did Oprah Winfrey in 2014 for her Master Class series. Just for kicks we thought we’d share some of the things we heard with you in today’s post!
*When he was 11 years old, Tim found his birth certificate and learned that he was the son of Tug McGraw, a professional baseball player.
*Tug McGraw did not ever actually play the role of father figure in Tim’s life. It wasn’t lost on him that his father had attained success, nevertheless, and that gave him assurance that maybe he would do something with his life too.
*Fun fact: When he started college, his plan was to become a lawyer. But then he started playing for many others after teaching himself some tunes on the guitar and everything shifted. The rest, as they say, was history. He loved it, and decided to go to Nashville.
*When he got there, he also felt like a small fish in a large sea. In a city in which you’re surrounded by so much musical ability, you begin to question whether you can create it like an artist. In the end, however, he didn’t let those queries smother his fantasies. “Anything that you do would be peppered without doubt, and it is also peppered with belief; everything you need to do is…never allow the doubt triumph,” he said. “You gotta make yourself move forward; you have to create yourself push ,” he continued.
*Here is a few faith and Tim trivia. His grandmother had Seen Faith and advised him”That’s the girl you’re going to wed” And even more interestingly, her grandmother had witnessed Tim and thought that he and Faith should be together. (There must be something to mother’s intuition!) Now, after so many years together, she still amazes him as an artist, and as a mommy.
*Though Tim doesn’t write most of his songs, he will only sing a song that strikes him in a very personal way. In his words? “I have to…immediately feel as if I own it, and instantly feel like it is something that I would say…To have tunes that move people I presume is exactly what each artist goes for, and that could only occur if it moves you first.”
*Like many musicians , Tim had to come to terms with alcohol. For many years, he would constantly drink before getting on stage to perform. As time went on, though, he realized the toll it was taking on his life and chose to stop. For anybody that fights that struggle, this is what he had to say:”If you do not decide that you need to stop, it is not gonna happen. Nobody can do it for you. You have to have it. Anything that you want to be good at and anything that you would like to be successful at, you need to own it. You have to step up to the plate and you need to swing the bat. Otherwise, you are not gonna maintain the match.”
*Regardless of his very successful career, Tim asserts that, in the beginning and end of the afternoon, family is what is most important for him and Faith. They have scheduled their own life together around their loved ones, and everything else is secondary.
